Reviews: Luang Prabang 2.5-Hour Mekong River Sunset Cruise + Dinner

Everything was great, but the seating arrangement was disappointing. I'm not sure if it was random assignment, but the seat wasn't good.
Reviews: Luang Prabang half-day tour: Mekong River sunset cruise [A ONE CRUISE]

The trip itself was great, the boat was excellent, and cruising in a deckchair was very pleasant, but be careful as sometimes all the deckchairs are occupied. The sunset views were spectacular. Tickets purchased on-site are only 90 yuan.
Reviews: Luang Prabang Pak Ouv Caves + Kuang Si Waterfall 1-day tour [Mekong River cruise to Pak Ouv Caves]

I used this tour while traveling alone, and it was a series of pleasant surprises! It was an English tour, but the local guide who was in charge spoke excellent Japanese! Apparently, he had lived in Japan for three months, and he spoke to me in Japanese, which made me feel very at ease since my English isn't perfect! Also, I thought the tour would end with just visiting the cave and waterfall, but he took us to two local villages and we had lunch at an elephant camp, so I got to interact with elephants, which was wonderful! Crossing the Mekong River by boat was also a very valuable experience! We were supposed to be able to see the sunset, but the weather wasn't very good so we couldn't see it, but I was having so much fun that I didn't mind! I didn't have to force myself to talk to the other people on the tour, so I, who am not good at English, had time to enjoy myself at my own pace, which I also appreciated! Even though I couldn't speak English, the people around me were very kind and spoke to me, so I think even Japanese people who are worried about communicating in English will enjoy it! I highly recommend it!
Reviews: Private Tour: Pak Ou Cave and Kuang Si Waterfall Tour from Luang Prabang
Guest User2025-12-11
In the morning, we headed to the pier near the hotel and boarded a boat. Although the water was murky, it was a comfortable Mekong River cruise. After about an hour heading north, we arrived at Pak Ou Cave, a mysterious space containing 4,000 Buddha statues, both old and new. Continuing north, we disembarked at Ban Sai Han village. Here, we observed the traditional, handmade process of making whiskey from rice. Many handcrafted items made by the villagers were also for sale. From here, we got back in the car and headed to Kuang Si Waterfall. Before visiting the waterfall, we had lunch at a restaurant. In front of the restaurant, fish, pork, beef, and chicken were being grilled over charcoal on skewers. Unusual items included frog, quail, and rat. I had the whole roasted frog. The innards had been removed, and it was stuffed with vegetables and herbs – it was incredibly delicious. The texture was similar to chicken, but juicier and more flavorful. Kuang Si Waterfall is as beautiful as the photos show. The scenery created by the waterfall, sunlight, and spray was magnificent. The water was cold, but some people were swimming. Both the car and boat were comfortable, and the local guide was kind and provided interesting explanations. They fully accommodated our requests. The restaurant selection was also excellent. It was a fantastic tour.
