Reviews: Captain Ian's Kaikoura Fishing & Lobster Catching Tour (Electric Fishing Rods/Led by Experienced Local Captain) - South Island, New Zealand
Guest User2026-04-06
The reel was fully electric, the water was 120 meters deep, and almost every cast caught a fish, and they were huge. Unfortunately, we only caught one lobster, and it wasn't big enough. A very good experience overall.

Very good. Excellent.
Reviews: Kaikoura Fishing with Captain TOMO/IAN [Deep Sea Fishing & Lobster Catching]
Guest User2026-02-21
We caught lobsters and some fish fillets (the captain will process the fish and distribute them to each family). Because I get seasick, my fishing experience wasn't great, but my travel companions who don't get seasick had a blast!

Great boat ride. Beautiful views. Just dress warmly, the wind is strong and cold.
Reviews: New Zealand Mount Cook Tasman Glacier/Fox Glacier/Franz Josef Glacier Helicopter Tour + Glacier Hike [Professional equipment provided, blue ice cave experience]

A three-hour hike is a bit strenuous, but not boring, and totally manageable. The guide is also funny and professional. Worth the experience.

A cruise with marine biology students. It was incredibly seasick, and half the passengers were sick, sitting or lying down with bags.
