It was a fantastic 3 hours. You always wonder if it's worth paying for another tour. In the end, I was always satisfied with my guide, and the money invested was very well spent. I was alone on the tour, having booked relatively early at 9 a.m., and luckily it was a private tour. Meeting up wasn't a problem. My guide, Tom, was Canadian, very friendly, and I understood him clearly. On the way to the castle, Tom started talking about it: what the castle looked like in the past, the roads, how the moat was constructed, and the architecture. This was information you wouldn't easily find on your own, and that's what made the tour so valuable. The samurai lesson was also a highlight. I put on samurai clothing, practiced katana techniques, and was able to ask specific questions. I was able to take some great photos of myself at the end. It was definitely worth it.★

We had a mix up with the meeting point and another guide and our guide communicated to ensure we didnt miss out. our guide was very informative and took time to make sure all group members had any questions answered. Kye was amazing showing the samuari and taking us back to castle illumination and recommendations★

Shin is an amazing guide, he is very patient and knowledgeable, thanks to him I learned a lot about the Matsumoto castle, Matsumoto city and japanese culture, he brought pictures and maps to help explain, because the group is small it's possible to enter shops and move in your own pace.★

The overall itinerary was somewhat rushed due to Japanese driver service time regulations. The Takayama leg of the trip was particularly tight, mainly because completing a meal and a full visit to the Takayama Jinya (traditional Japanese houses) within two hours was quite strenuous. Two hours was more than enough for the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. The tour guide was very professional and nice, and his explanations were quite interesting. The group members came from all over the world, with mainland Chinese tourists making up about 10%, making it a very international team.★
