We really enjoyed the Hop on Hop off Bus portion of the tour. The audio guide was very informative and an easy way to navigate the city to all the main sightseeing spots. The boat tour on the Tiber River was nice too, but would have been better if there was an audio guide for that like the bus.★

A good starting point by bus is to get an initial overview and then explore the city later. There were plenty of buses and seats available.★

The transfer from the port to Rome was perfect; the staff were very pleasant. However, the service on the bus with the audio guide was not the same. No explanations were given. We had to ask the driver for the audio guides ourselves, as he didn't offer them; they barely even said hello. As for the commentary on the monuments, etc., it was quite poor. There was a lot of music playing, even though there's so much to say, as Rome has so many monuments to see.
