Hot spring bathing guidelines:
1. Before entering the water, acclimate to the temperature by starting with lower-temperature hot spring pools and gradually transitioning to higher-temperature ones, allowing time for blood vessels to dilate.
2. While soaking in the hot spring, try keeping your eyes gently closed and take slow, deep breaths. Let meditation help release tension from both body and mind, effectively relieving stress.
3. Do not soak in scalding hot water for more than 10 minutes at a time. Make sure to expose your upper chest above the water surface or take breaks out of the water periodically.
4. Do not soak in water above chest level for more than 10 minutes at a time. Alternate with milder pool water promptly or take breaks by exposing your body above water before soaking again.
5. Due to the high temperature of the hot spring water, discomfort such as sweating, dry mouth, and chest tightness may occur after soaking. This is a normal reaction caused by accelerated blood circulation. Additionally, the body's moisture evaporates quickly after a hot spring bath, so it's essential to replenish fluids promptly.
6. Avoid soaking when hungry, as an empty stomach can easily lead to fatigue. Take a short nap or rest after meals before soaking. Also, do not soak in hot springs immediately after eating too much, as both situations may cause dizziness or fatigue.
