1. Blue Ice Cave tour travel tips:

Besides Blue Ice Caves, there are also white and even black ice caves, some of which are open year-round;

To explore the Blue Ice Cave, you must follow a professional guide and join a tour group; individual visits are not permitted.

Blue Ice Cave changes rapidly, not only subtly transforming its shape each year but also varying daily due to weather, light, and other factors;

The Blue Ice Cave is highly weather-dependent, and tours will be canceled if weather conditions are unfavorable.

Are all ice caves blue?

Ice caves can also be white, gray, or even black. If an ice cave is covered by snow and ice or remains perpetually dark, it will appear darker in color. Snow covering the ice surface gives it a white appearance, while rocks and gravel within the ice can make it appear black. Many of Iceland's ice caps actually overlay volcanoes, and volcanic ash mixed into the ice can also tint it a darker shade.
