Reviews: DMZ TOUR HUE - Deluxe group tour full day

Great tour. Linh is awesome, very cheerful and informative, and Mr Handsomb drove like a champ. The citadel was cool and steeped in history, Khe Sanh was a great experience, the lunch was delicious, and the tunnels were a great way to finish off the tour. Highly recommended.

Hung was an amazing tour guide. He was an authentic history book, he was able to answer all our questions and explained to us so many details about Vietnam’s history and the Vietname War - in a super neutral and factual way, like an historian. What’s best is that he talked super clearly - it was the best English we heard in Vietname 🇻🇳 We were only sad we couldn’t get to see the Khe San combat base - make sure to book the full day trip as the half day trip doesn’t have enough time because of the traffic leaving Hue. Recommend 10/10
Reviews: DMZ & Vinh Moc Tunnels – Private Historical Tour from Hue

Excellent private car tour of the DMZ and Vinh Moc tunnels. Thach, the guide was fabulous. She has been taking people around the DMZ and tunnels for 30 years and knows her stuff, adding her own and some of the locals personal experiences. She took us a little off piste in the tunnels, into the lower parts, before coming up right outside the car park. Trung, our driver, was very pleasant and chatty throughout the drive and we felt safe across the journey. He gave us some initial history about the highway of horror as we drove to pick up Thach and tips about Hue and places to visit whilst we were here. Value for money and a must for anybody with an interest in the war.

I was blessed to have the extremely knowledge elder statesmen of the tour guides Mr Tam; having lived through the end of French colonialism and the war he was able to share not just facts learnt from a history book but also he shared his personal experiences and anecdotes - I could listen to Mr Tam all day; an amazing septuagenarian. Our driver Mr Tom was also excellent - collecting me from my hotel at 8am and returning me just after 6pm so it was a long day. Khe San FOB is now a tranquil place and it was hard to believe that only a few years ago it was the scene of a fierce battle and home to 1000s of US marines - i enjoyed exploring the trench system. After making our back down the hills it was time for lunch which tasty and cheap. Vinh Moc tunnels was an eye opening experience and totally different from the cu chi system in the south - I only needed to stoop and crawl. The system is ventilated by tunnels that lead to sea and served as an air raid shelter for locals so there were family compartments and even a maternity cave dug out of the tunnel wall - I’m told that they even had film shows down there. Our final port of call was the brigade spanning the 17th parallel - an historically significant place. As a former soldier and lover of history it was a worthwhile and fantastic day out
