Reviews: Port Akureyri: Godafoss Waterfall, Myvatn and Baths Tour

This was the highlight of my trip! Baldur from Fox Adventures was a fantastic guide—funny, interesting, and full of great stories. We saw the stunning Goðafoss and Lake Mývatn at a very relaxed pace. Baldur even went above and beyond by stopping at a supermarket to help us navigate the Icelandic candy aisle for souvenirs! 10/10 experience.

Watching the northern lights was a magical experience. Green lights slowly danced across the dark Arctic sky, moving like waves of energy. In the freezing night, everything became silent and still. Standing under the glowing sky, I felt small but deeply grateful to witness such a rare and beautiful moment.

We were upgraded to the Lake Myvatn tour due to numbers. Asa was very communicative, knowledgable and engaging. Highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and recommend Asa! Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us.

Really enjoyed the tour, our guide, Hilmar, was very entertaining and interesting. The driver, Almaty was a very good driver. Loved the waterfall area and by walking fast we were able to cover the whole area and get good photos.
Reviews: Akureyri Port: Myvatn Nature Baths & Godafoss Waterfall Tour

Great trip, but make sure you bring a bug netting for your head. I was glad I read reviews specifically telling you to do this as the small no see um type bugs swarmed your face while you visited Lake Myvatn. The baths were gorgeous the group shower prior was clean, but I think I would pay extra for the private changing room. Unfortunately I ate half of the sandwich provided and drank a few sips of the juice provided. The juice tasted off and the sandwich seemed weird and slimy/warm? I was violently sick at the baths about a half hour later. It was violent enough that I pulled muscles in my back and stomach. The tour was very nice and I think it was an isolated incident, since no one else seemed ill. I did not report it, but if you go I would avoid eating.

The excursion was fantastic... so many wonderful memories... it's a shame the guide didn't speak any French... I would have liked to ask him questions... but he was also rather introverted... a lack of passion in explaining and expressing such a vast landscape...
