The train is cute, just like in the pictures. It departs on time, so you should arrive early. The seats are comfortable, the staff are lovely, and there are activities to do.

My brother and I booked this tour and felt like we had an amazing full experience of hualien’s surroundings. Not only was it luxurious and relaxing, our tour guide Mr Chen was also fantastic. Although it’s unfortunate Taroko was so badly affected by the earthquake last year, I still felt like we got to see as much as we could off the trails and had a great day!

🥹Bad luck! It was a cloudy day. The tour was rescheduled, and even though the shop moved the departure time an hour earlier, we still didn't catch any whales. The chances are higher in summer, but in spring, on cloudy or rainy days, you won't see a single one.
