Day 1

Meet at meeting point: Start on Church Street in Jeffersonville, next to the United States Postal Service and across from the Village Tavern. This is a suggested starting point, and we're not affiliated with them. No one will meet you, as it's a self-guided tour. Check your email/text for details.
Meet at meeting point: Start along Vermont Route 100, near Valley Craft Ales in Wilmington. The large red building will be on your left. This is a suggested starting point; we're not affiliated with the businesses here. No one will meet you in person, as this is a self-guided experience. Check your email/text for details.
Attractions and Activities: Wilmington (Free entry) Welcome to Vermont's Scenic Route 100 Byway! We'll explore the charming landscapes of Vermont, passing through picturesque towns, lush forests, and stunning mountain views. So let's get started! Note: The tour is over 160 miles long, with more than 140+ audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want. 5 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Outdoor Center at von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort (Free entry) There's another great attraction here that I know will enjoy. No trip to Stowe is complete without a visit to the Von Trapp family Lodge. It's the second biggest reason after skiing that visitors come to the area. Situated on 2500 acres this Austrian mountain beauty is run by members of the original Von Trapp family that inspired the movie The Sound of Music. 30 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Stowe Mountain Resort (Free entry) Stowe's main resort area is coming up, and it is impossible to miss. It's the location where the gondola departs, but be aware that the gondola's warm weather operation only begins in mid-September, which is, of course, when foliage season really gets going. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Smugglers' Notch Resort (Free entry) We'll soon arrive at the entrance for Smuggler's Notch Resort, Vermont's third largest ski resort and also known as America's Family Resort. 25 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Stowe Village Massage (Free entry) The cozy village of Stowe is just ahead, where we will come to the junction of Route 100. If we decide to explore the village a bit we'll turn left and go find parking. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Cold Hollow Cider Mill (Free entry) Apple cider is a Vermont specialty and you definitely need to try it while you are here. And yes, I do have a place for that and it's coming up quickly. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Cabot (Free entry) We are right in the middle of my favorite food lover's stretch of Route 100. There are some great places to stop and sample more of Vermont's most loved food delicacies here. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Waterbury (Free entry) We are getting close to the town of Waterbury. One of Waterbury's more famous tourist spots involves ice cream, but there is another mega brand business based here as well that we might also enjoy visiting. 30 min(s)
Just stay straight ahead to get to Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory. As you can imagine this is a very popular place and just about the most visited attraction in all of Vermont. Going to need you to be patient while we're here and don't be surprised if we have some short waits during the peak times of the year, where it's summer and foliage season.
Attractions and Activities: Mad River Valley (Free entry) It looks to me like we've decided to drive Route 17 to Mad River Glen and maybe even a little further to the App Gap itself. Its less than 10 minute to the Gap, and we'll see the ski area before that. 5 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Sugarbush Farm (Free entry) One of Vermont's more famous ski resorts, but there are also lots of summer activities for kids of every age, even the really old kids like me. 1 hr(s)
Attractions and Activities: Warren (Free entry) It's another quirky little town and definitely worth the drive through. Driving through town will bring us back onto this road and we won't miss anything. 10 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Robert Frost Wayside (Free entry) The Robert Frost interpretive trail for a little thoughtful, quiet time. I love it. This road will be traveling on right now, route 125 is one of the six mountain gaps or mountain passages of Vermont and very popular with the New England bicycle riding community. 50 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Green Mountain Oasis Day Spa (Free entry) Visit the Green Mountain Cafe and Visitor Center. You'll see the beautifully restored train station that's now the Visitor Center, and it's at the end of the first block. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Calvin Coolidge Homestead (Free entry How to visit:No indoor visits) The Notch cemetery where President Coolidge is buried is located on Lynn's Hill Road, coming up on our right. To skip the cemetery and go directly to the Coolidge homestead, we'll see the entrance driveway on our left as we round the curve.
Attractions and Activities: Lake Rescue (Free entry) One of the lakes in a string of four is called Lake Rescue, having had its name changed from Plymouth Lake in the 1880s. 5 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Killington (Free entry) That's great, I lovethis place, thanks for bringing me along. It'll be about a 4 mile drive to the Base Lodge. We can stop along the way and grab some lunch or a snack, or maybe a cup of tea or a cappuccino. 50 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Okemo Mountain Resort (Free entry) There's a mountain on the western side of the road that is home to the Okemo Mountain Resort, a popular ski area. 14 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: The Benedictine Monks ofWeston Priory (Free entry) In a couple of minutes, we'll have the opportunity to make a stop that you might not have been expecting today. 20 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Londonderry (Free entry) The next town, as we follow Route 100 is going to be the town of Londonderry. Londonderry, Vermont, got its name from Londonderry, New Hampshire, which got its name from Londonderry in Northern Ireland. 25 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Jamaica State Park (Free entry How to visit:No indoor visits) For travelers doing a thorough exploration of Vermont, it might be nice to take some time to visit Jamaica State Park.
Attractions and Activities: Buttermilk Falls Rd (Free entry) In just about a mile will be coming to the intersection of Route 100 and Route 103. If it's a particularly hot day, I might be able to tempt you with a quick visit to Buttermilk Falls. 30 min(s)
Guests leave on their own: End the tour on your own and bring your trip to a happy conclusion The self-guided tour will end here, near 322 VT-108 Jeffersonville, VT.
