Attractions and Activities: Samora Machel Statue (Free entry) This magnificent statue of Mozambique's beloved freedom fighter and first President stands in the center of Maputo's Independence square with a number of architectural giants surrounding the square, including the Maputo Cathedral, and Municipal Building. 30 min(s)
Attractions and Activities: Casa de Ferro (The Iron House) (At your own expense) Famous because many believe it was designed by Gustav Eiffel. It was actually designed by the Belguim Joseph Danly using the "Danly System" - one of the oldest prefab construction methods. Our tour shows the burgeoning Costa do Sol where the beach is being embraced and skyscrapers are multiplying.
