Reviews: Valpo in 1 day: Authentic + Famous! Semi-private walking tour & public transport

We did the Valpo in 1 Day: Authentic & Famous Semi-Private Walking Tour on December 29, 2025, and it was hands-down one of the best tours we’ve taken in Chile. Patatour truly delivers an authentic Valparaíso experience, and our guide Felipe made it exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about Valpo — its history, culture, art, politics, and daily life. Felipe shared fascinating stories you simply wouldn’t get on your own, while seamlessly navigating public transportation and the city’s famous hills and funiculars. The pace was perfect, the group felt intimate, and Felipe made sure everyone was comfortable, engaged, and having fun. He was also great at pointing out hidden gems, street art, local spots, and the best viewpoints for photos (which you’ll definitely want — this city is bursting with color and character!). This tour strikes the perfect balance between iconic landmarks and real local flavor, giving you a deeper understanding of Valparaíso beyond the postcard views. If you want a meaningful, well-organized, and memorable way to explore Valpo — this is it. Highly recommend Patatour and especially Felipe — we’d book again in a heartbeat! Photos attached — they barely capture how special this experience was.
Reviews: Valparaiso + Vina del Mar Day Tour from Santiago, Chile (Daily Departures, Minimum 1 Person)
Guest User2026-01-14
The tour package included a winery visit on the return trip, but it didn't. The time was also shortened by an hour. We encountered traffic and asked the tour guide if we could rest and use the restroom, but he refused. His attitude was poor. The return trip, which had been delayed by two hours due to traffic, took three hours, and we didn't get to visit the winery.
Reviews: Chile: 15-Person Group Day Tour to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar from Santiago

The guide was great, the group was small and well-organized. We stopped in in the most important highlights, except the Vina del Mar seaside palace which I was really missing. The visit to Casablanca for wine tasting left my with hard feelings: they gave us 2 cheapest wines to taste: white which was fine and red, which they served much too hot - the wine was around 24-25 degrees of Celsius, while they claimed it should be served in 17 degrees :/ I would expect more professionalism from them while service their wine.
