Reviews: Nagoya Shoryudo 1-day Tour: Inuyama Castle + Magome + Tsumago-juku + Ena Kyo Observation Deck

Ricky was an excellent tour guide. He did a great job both introducing the itinerary and attractions on the bus and accompanying us on the way to Dragon Falls. He even lent us his umbrella when it rained. Five stars!

There were four attractions in total. Eihoji Temple in mid-October already showed signs of autumn color; I believe in another month it will be dominated by ginkgo and red maple leaves. Ena Gorge wasn't particularly outstanding; I only went because I thought I'd pass by. Magome-juku was too new, like a ramp version of Panlong Tiandi, and there were too many shops; walking uphill on a rainy day was quite scary. When we arrived at Tsumago-juku, a heavy rain actually added to the rustic charm of the place. Our group was about a dozen people, and we were all very punctual, both for morning check-in and meeting at each attraction! Most of the tourists were from Southeast Asia, Europe, and Taiwan. The tour guide provided service in both Chinese and English throughout the trip. 👍🏼

I think this is a place worth visiting. The snack shops near Ena Gorge have incredibly delicious strawberries, only 1000 yen a bag. The strawberry flavor is exceptionally sweet; in Nagoya, a bag of strawberries would cost at least 1500 yen. The roasted sweet potatoes are also delicious. Tsumarajuku is truly beautiful, perfect for taking photos.

We visited the old preserved towns of Edo era. Both the towns are very nice but I found Tsumogo-juku more charming. There was enough time to explore both the to. No rush. The guide was very helpful and clear in communication.
