10:00 Arrive at Gold Mine Town (stay for about 3 hours) located opposite the Gold Museum. Enter the gold mine where we will watch a gold mine promotional video (10 minutes), witness a gold melting performance (15 minutes), begin an underground gold mine tour (ancient mine shaft exploration, 40 minutes), and enjoy a soldier parade.
Sovereign Hill, located 112 kilometers west of Melbourne in Ballarat, is the third-largest city in Victoria and a famous historic gold mining town in Australia. To preserve the historical significance of the gold rush era, the site features hidden street theater performances (Street Theatre), the immersive Red Hill Mine Tour that delves into historical mines, and nostalgic gold-panning workshops (Gold-panning) by the creek along with a vintage village. All these experiences will amaze you as you immerse yourself in Melbourne's rich history and culture.
Ballarat - Sovereign Hill, the gold rush town. Following the discovery of gold in Australia in 1851, a gold rush fever quickly swept through. Ballarat rapidly developed into a prosperous and beautiful city "built on gold." Some of the world's largest gold nuggets were reportedly found in Ballarat, and gold can still be found in the surrounding hills today. The influx of gold seekers from Europe and America, along with over 40,000 Chinese laborers from the coastal regions of Guangdong and Fujian, created a unique multicultural gold rush culture. In contrast to San Francisco's nickname "Old Gold Mountain," Ballarat earned the title "New Gold Mountain" in Australia. After restoration in the 1970s, it reopened as a tourist attraction. Today, around 150 staff members live, work, and socialize here in a retro style, offering visitors an immersive experience that feels like stepping back in time.
13:00 Lunch at Gold Rush Town (at your own expense)
13:30 Depart for Sainte Anne Vineyard Winery
14:00 St. Anne's Winery - Myrniong (approximately 1-hour stay), featuring a two-story bistro, cooperage, and winery on the premises. The region's cold climate and abundant annual rainfall create ideal conditions for grape cultivation, producing low-yield, high-quality grape varieties with extended growing seasons - naturally perfect for winemaking. The award-winning wines attract numerous visitors to the estate for tastings and tours! St. Anne's bluestone cellar was constructed using remnants from Ballarat's original prison (1840s). Upon entering, you'll immediately notice the subtle aroma of red wine in this charmingly vintage-style winery, where you can (at your own expense) sample distinctive wines. (Tasting fee approximately AUD$10-$15 per person)
