Reviews: Guided tour - Viking Village, Nærøyfjord Cruise and Flåm Railway
Guest User2025-12-19
This full-day tour was truly one of a kind and encompassed so many of Norway's incredible features. The Viking Village was not on my list of destinations when I planned my trip, I just thought it would be cool since it was a part of the tour, and it was incredible! Very informative learning about Viking history and culture, and debunking common myths or 'Hollywood' ideologies. There is also the opportunity to participate in Archery and Axe throwing which were very fun. We then moved onto the Fjord cruise, the boat was HUGE with plenty of room for everyone, and designed extremely well so its suitable for all ages and abilities. The views were spectacular. Once off the boat we boarded the Flam railway, although it wasn't very snowy like usual the scenery was still beautiful and I felt like I could have been in the Polar Express. There was snow passed about 700m (Myrdal top station sits about 860m) and the station at Myrdal was covered with snow. Train and bus ride back into Bergen was very relaxing after a long day. Overall could not recommend this trip enough, worth every cent in my opinion.

During the tours, the guides were also able to tell us a lot about the country, its people, and its traditions. The scenery was magnificent. At the apple farm, we enjoyed delicious apple tart and were given explanations about the family business.

Only office staff who responded in timely manner. Options not given for meals, connections. A 10 hr round trip turned into an official 15 hr marathon. We ignored the planned long breaks and caught earlier trains which were not full and completed the tour in 10hr. Tour well planned, though some details could have been better explained eg where to catch connections (distances and times) but Google helped which could have been referenced. Overall very happy with the tour.
