Get ready for an unforgettable day trip to Saona Island!
We'll organize the transfer to and from the cruise port for you, and you'll receive detailed information after booking. Transportation is included in the tour price.
From Bayahibe, we'll head along the coast of the Eastern National Park and pass El Peñon, an area once inhabited by the Taíno.
Our first stop is the charming fishing village of Mano Juan, with no cars and only 300 inhabitants. Explore the village and learn more about the life of the locals. You'll also visit the sea turtle project, which aims to promote the survival of the young.
After a cool drink under the palm trees, we'll head to Canto de la Playa, the most remote corner of Saona Island. Enjoy the untouched nature and crystal clear water, where you can snorkel or simply enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.
The next stop is Catuano Beach, where a traditional Dominican barbecue lunch awaits you. After lunch, relax in one of the hammocks or cool off in the sea.
Then we'll explore the mangroves, a protected area in the Eastern National Park. Learn more about the importance of mangroves to our ecosystem and keep an eye out for sea turtles in their natural habitat. Since the mangroves are within the national park and are protected, we're not allowed to go in. We'll drive past it and stop closer to the outer mangroves.
Our last stop is the enchanting Piscina Natural, a sandbank in the middle of the sea. Snorkel with the big sea stars or just enjoy a drink in the warm, hip-deep water.
Now it's time to head back, and you'll meet us again at the office, where your transport is already waiting for you.
