Highlights

Being just a few meters from the Southern Right Whale is truly impressive.
We'll discover the vastness of Patagonia's geography.
We'll observe animals in the wild.
Itinerary
Valdes Peninsula is a Natural World Heritage Site, declared as such by UNESCO in 1999. At the entrance, you'll find the El Desempeño checkpoint, where you can pay for your tickets.
We'll enjoy a must-see stop at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center and tour its different rooms that invite us to learn about the history, geology, and characteristics of the local fauna and flora, being the gateway to the Valdés Peninsula. This place has a viewpoint, where you can observe the Nuevo and San José gulfs from above, discovering the first signs of an unparalleled geography that opens up before your eyes.
We'll then head to Puerto Pirámides, where we'll enjoy a boat trip to see the impressive southern right whale. This activity takes place on rigid-hulled boats and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. (Service available from June to December). At noon, you can enjoy the haute cuisine that characterizes this picturesque tourist town in one of its restaurants and confectioneries, with the most coveted dishes being paellas, fried calamari, seafood casseroles, and various seafood, among other traditional options.
We'll then head inland along the peninsula's gravel roads to Caleta Valdés, while we keep our eyes peeled for guanacos, maras, martinetas, and choiques, among the wild animals that blend in with the landscape.
Once in Caleta, you can enjoy its trails and cliffs, from which you'll be dazzled by the presence of Southern Elephant Seals, which choose the eastern end of the peninsula among other places in the province. Besides spotting cormorants and other bird species, you'll be delighted by the blue sea and the immensity of having the Patagonian Sea itself before your eyes.

We'll head back in the afternoon.
