Be picked up from the Cruise Terminal in Ocho Rios or your hotel and head to the Green Grotto Caves. Located just 3 km from the spot where Christopher Columbus landed in 1494, the caves were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655 and is said to have been a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th Century.
In just under an hour, your trained and experienced guide will take you on a walking adventure through the Caves' inner beauty with its series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, majestic stalactites, and stalagmites. Continue down some 37 meters to the cave's innermost cavern, where you will come upon the Green Grotto with water as translucent as nothing you have seen before.
On your outward journey, stop at the “Wishing Well” and throw in a coin for luck, for love, or all your heart's desires. After completing this adventure journey, return to the Cruise Terminal or your hotel.
