Itinerary
Admire the cascading Katoomba Falls, take in panoramic views of the Jamison Valley, and stroll through lush rainforest.

Graded as easy to moderate, the well-maintained path is suitable for walkers of all ages and fitness levels. The round trip typically takes about 1-2 hours, depending on how long you linger at the numerous scenic lookouts.

The centerpiece of the walk is Katoomba Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall plunging dramatically into the Jamison Valley. Encounter several vantage points along the trail, including the Duke and Duchess of York Lookout and the Katoomba Falls Lookout, each offering unique perspectives of this spectacular cascade.

The trail boasts incredible lookouts with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Reid's Plateau and Juliet's Balcony provide awe-inspiring vistas of the valley, framed by towering sandstone cliffs and the famous Three Sisters rock formation in the distance.

A significant portion of the trail meanders through cool, shaded rainforest. Towering tree ferns, moss-covered rocks, and the tranquil sounds of nature create a serene atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the open cliffside views.

One of the walk's unique features is Witches Leap, a small but enchanting waterfall cascading over mossy rocks and framed by lush vegetation. The name originates from the rock formations nearby, which some say resemble a witch's profile.

Along the way, interpretive signs provide insights into the area's history, geology, and flora and fauna, enriching your experience and connection to the Blue Mountains. Keep an eye out for native birds such as rosellas and lyrebirds.
