Reviews: Madeira: Whale Watching Excursion in a Traditional Vessel

Fantastic excursion in a small, traditional wooden boat. We saw a pod of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) up close, even though it's not the best season for whale watching (February). It was magical. However, despite the beautiful sunshine, the ocean was very rough!! A real thrill! :0) We brought "R Calm" with us, and thank goodness!
Reviews: Funchal: Dolphin and Whale Watching by Luxury Catamaran

The Catamaran trip was really great. The views of the coastline were lovely and the crew were very friendly and informative. We were fortunate to see some bottlenose dolphins. We had great seating on the Catamaran as there were not many other passengers compared to some others that we saw so the few extra pounds paid for a more personal trip was well worth it.
Reviews: Funchal: Morning/ Sunset Catamaran Tour w/ Open Bar & Snacks

Oh man, that was fantastic! A comfortable, stylish catamaran that can also accelerate like a speedboat! A professional, considerate, and very friendly skipper who took us right to Ponto do Furado! Fatima kept us well-supplied with homemade baked goods, snacks, fruit, sparkling wine, Madeira, etc. Even in rougher seas, we stayed dry – wonderful! Thank you! We'll be back; this was a highlight of our vacation!
Reviews: Madeira Sunset in Pico do Arieiro and Optional Stairway to Heaven

What an incredible experience. We had great communications from the team in the run up to the trip. We were picked up on time and in comfortable transport. Ricardo was really welcoming and pleasant. On the journey up we had a huge amount of information and history shared with us all by him and he was happy to answer any questions from our excellent little group of strangers who became friends! The dinner stop was outstanding. So quaint and personal with delicious food and plenty to drink, and also a historical spot to stop at. We were in the clouds at this point and wondered if we may not get a sunset. Yet 600m later we came through the clouds to the most magnificent scene, clouds surrounding the most incredible landscape. Breathtaking. Once on top it just got better and at no point would you tire of it. The sunset was out of this world, with the feeling of being on top of the world as well as surrounded by peace and tranquility. The colours were amazing and it is a hard experience to equal. The journey down offered further opportunity to enjoy the scene before returning to the trees and clouds then finally the coast. I cannot recommend it enough, an absolute bargain at the price and an unforgettable experience with a great guide. Must do in Madeira!
