Kalbarri: Murchison River Morning Cruise

Cruise along the lower reaches of the Murchison River on a boat tour from Kalbarri. Keep an eye out for local wildlife and learn about the region from your guide.

Board the boat and listen to a safety speech and induction before setting off. Travel 6 kilometers up the lower reaches of the Murchison River, as far as any vessel can go.

Hear interesting commentary from your guide about the fishing industry, the history of the region, animals and plants, and more. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including ospreys, kites, pelicans, egrets, black swans, and white-breasted sea eagles.

At times, kangaroos, emus, and goats can be spotted on the riverbanks. Admire the landscape as it elevates in sections with beautiful colored rocks, and a narrow channel along Goat Island.

At the turn around point, stop at Rocky Crossing to stretch your legs. Then, make your way back to the starting point with plenty of time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. Finish the tour by venturing to the river mouth where the Murchison River meets the Indian Ocean.
