Highlights

A recommended day trip from Darwin when visiting the Top End.
Experience the breathtaking views of Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) on a boat cruise
Nitmiluk National Park spans over 292,000 hectares, home to the Jawoyn people.
Itinerary
You are invited to explore Nitmiluk National Park, one of the top attractions in the Top End.

Travelling south from Darwin in the morning, you will pass through the Adelaide River and Pine Creek townships along the Stuart Highway towards Katherine. Enjoy the abundant flora and fauna unique to this region of the Northern Territory, and listen to your guide's commentary about the history and culture along the way.

One recommended activity for your day is the NitNit Dreaming two-hour Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) boat cruise. During this cruise, you will pass through towering cliff faces 70m high. The natural lighting from the sun creates ever-changing colours in the landscape and rock formations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn about the land's traditional owners, the Jawoyn people of Katherine, and their culture and stories. After the cruise, we will visit the picturesque Edith Falls (Leliyn) region, either before or after the boat cruise, depending on timing.

Visitors are welcome to swim in the natural plunge pool of Edith Falls (Leliyn) and enjoy the surrounding area. Afterwards, the route back includes passing through Pine Creek and Adelaide River, allowing for a relaxing evening in Darwin.
