Itinerary
Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Lisbon. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle as you travel south toward Portugal's stunning Algarve region.

Your first stop is Lagos, a town rich in both natural beauty and history. Visit the iconic beaches of Praia Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo, and the spectacular Ponta da Piedade, where centuries of ocean erosion have sculpted arches, cliffs, and grottoes into the limestone coastline.

Next, explore Lagos Old Town, once a Moorish settlement from the 8th century, later reclaimed during the 13th-century Reconquista. In the 15th century, Lagos became a hub for Portugal's Age of Discoveries—but also a darker site in history, hosting Europe's first slave market in 1444. Visit the Slave Market Museum, stroll the cobbled streets, and take in the town's maritime spirit at the marina and fish market.

Continue to Carvoeiro, a charming coastal village known for its dramatic cliffs and sea-carved rock formations. At Algar Seco, walk through a labyrinth of natural passages and gaze out from the famous Boneca Cave ("Doll's Face"), where two oval windows open to the ocean—a formation shaped by millions of years of erosion.

End the day at the world-renowned Benagil Cave, or Algar de Benagil. Formed over 20 million years ago, this iconic sea cave features a vast dome and a natural skylight that bathes the golden sands below in sunlight. Opt for a boat tour (weather permitting) to experience it from the water, or admire the view from the cliffs above.

After a day filled with history, nature, and hidden coastal gems, enjoy a relaxing drive back to Lisbon in the early evening.
