Itinerary
Make the most of a visit to Mexico City with a trio of Mexico's must-see historical monuments. Mexican Root is a celebration of the civilizations and cultures that have shaped Mexico into what it is today. This full-day excursion explores the legendary Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Tlatelolco, and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan from Mexico City.

The first stop is Tlatelolco, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Mexico City. Alongside temples dedicated to Mexican deities, the site also reveals the darker aspects of its history, including stories of human sacrifices, mass graves, and the so-called Lovers of Tlatelolco.

The journey continues to the Guadalupe Shrine, located in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In this 18th-century sanctuary, visitors can see the cloak bearing the image of Guadalupe while learning about her importance to the culture and faith of modern Mexico—the place where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to an indigenous Mexican. Afterwards, the experience continues with a visit to an obsidian workshop, where this ancient craftsmanship is explained while tasting one of Mexico's most famous spirits: tequila. Following the visit, the experience continues with a culinary moment that celebrates Mexican culture, including either a traditional lunch at an authentic Mexican restaurant with a typical fiesta featuring traditional dances and music, or a traditional Mexican Barbacoa experience that highlights one of the country's most iconic gastronomic traditions.

The tour then continues to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Mexico: the great Pyramids of Teotihuacan. Accompanied by a guide, the mystical site reveals the grandeur of this ancient city. The Pyramid of the Sun, rising more than 200 feet high and the largest in Mesoamerica, stands as one of its most striking landmarks. A walk along the Avenue of the Dead introduces the origins of this religious city while showcasing remarkable structures such as the Temples of Quetzalpapalotl, the Temple of the Feathered Shells, and the Pyramid of the Moon.

This tour combines adventure, history, culture, and some of the most breathtaking views in Mexico.
