· Himeji Castle:
Registered in 1993 as Japan's first UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, Himeji Castle was originally built in the late 14th century, with its current magnificent structure completed in 1609. Its elegant white exterior has earned it the nickname “White Heron Castle”, and it is celebrated as one of the finest examples of surviving Japanese castle architecture. The castle's expertly designed wooden construction and defensive features reflect the pinnacle of architectural techniques from the Sengoku (Warring States) to early Edo periods. It is also one of the few castles in Japan to have a complete set of original keeps remaining intact. In spring, soft cherry blossoms gently frame the castle, while in autumn, vibrant foliage creates a striking contrast with its white walls

Located to the southwest of Himeji Castle, the garden spans approximately 10,000 tsubo (about 3.5 hectares). The grounds feature a collection of nine distinct gardens, including a pond-centered stroll garden called Oyakata-no-niwa and a traditional sukiya-style teahouse garden with the tea room Soju-an. The tranquil, Edo-period atmosphere makes it a popular filming location for historical dramas and samurai period films.
