Reviews: From Geneva: Full-Day Trip to Chamonix and Mont-Blanc
Guest User2025-12-24
The train ride on the vintage train was magnificent. Enjoyed it. The funicular was less so. Long waits on the way down. Crowded. Mont Blanc shrouded in mist at the summit. Absolutely worth the day trip. Enjoyed it.
Reviews: Award-Winning Geneva Chocolate &Old Town Tour with Boat Ride (3h)
Guest User2025-12-08
Myself and 2 friends visited Geneva for a long weekend, exploring the local area, doing some tours and a visit to Chamonix. We chose to do the Award winning Geneva Chocolate Tour, With the added boat ride and old town visit. I dont remember the actual cost, but I think it was around £75? I could be wrong. But it was well worth every penny. Our tour guide, the Affable Paul, originally from Russia, but spoke english very well, met us at the Starbucks on the waterside, making himself known to the group of people awaiting the tour. The group size was around 9 or 10 and they were all a lovely bunch of people. We enjoyed their company as much as the tour itself. Paul (same name as me) took us to visit some of the beautiful genevan chocolatiers, Educating the group on over 2000 years of history of how chocolate evolved, its origins and how cacao came to Geneva. We tasted Hot chocolate from La ludrèe, which was moreish, creamy and decadent, also savouring chocolate chunks, chocolate peices, slices of cake and more. Learning how to experience chocolate tasting to its finest. Visiting the old town, with the enchanting St Peter's cathedral, Cobbled streets, quaint shops, and views of Geneva, including glimpses of Jet d'Eau. Learning the history of the old town, and its protestant background under John Calvin. Our guide Paul was well educated on Calvin's history, and that of the strict moral codes, and the governance and influence of the church over life in Geneva. Paul had a wealth of knowledge in regards to the tour, Geneva and the chocolate, his personality kept myself and my friends, along with our group, engaged throughout the tour, he kept it light, fun and well organised. Allowing us time, in each place to ask questions, taste the chocolates, make purchases if we wished and explore the shops. Have photo opportunities and chat amongst each other. If I could have asked for one thing to be added to the tour, It would be a chance to make some chocolate ourselves. Im unsure of the logistics of how this might work, or even if its possible to add it in the future. Thank you Paul, for all the effort you made on the day, And for helping the 3 hour tour fly in. Good luck with your education and we wish you well in life. Paul, Julie and Lauren from Falkirk in Scotland.
Reviews: From Geneva: Chamonix Full-Day Ski Trip
Guest User2025-03-24
This was an amazing day- the highlight of our trip. I never would have found this or thought to coordinate the transportation without this package: I highly recommend it. There isn’t really a guide though- it’s mainly just the transportation from Geneva (at the bus station, go across the street into the travel agency/cafe to meet your right group and bus). The bus takes you an hour into France. Once there, the group will go on their tour and the guide will point you towards the ski rental and tell you to catch the city shuttle to the mountain (not a lot of guidance but adequate). The use of the ski clothes was excellent- bring goggles and gloves and wear sunblock. We came back an hour early and were able to return our rental equipment and still see a bit of the town- which is charming.
