Reviews: Caminito del Rey: Guided Tour and Entry Ticket

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! We arrived 20 minutes before the start to the location on the app. But it turned out that it was not the meeting point. We had to take a bus from the car park. Leaves every 30 minutes from 08.00-19.00 (if I remember correctly). From the bus you take 1 stop. Then go back to the tunnel 1,5 km walk… and THEN you are there. I do not know how but we arrived with 5 minute delay. Luckily they let us to the tour. Tour guide spoke great English! The whole tour he made jokes, told about the history and the tour WAS worth the trip there! Definitely something to see. 1100 people go to the tour every day and if you are like us and book it on the day before then ONLY guided tour through this app were available. Can you make it cheaper? Yeah, but you already read through the review and know that it is legit! Just book it and it is WELL worth the 30 euro!

We did our first via ferrata and it was an incredible experience! We were a little intimidated at first, but the guides always made us feel safe and looked after with great professionalism and kindness. They made everything exciting and fun, capturing the best moments with stunning photos. An adventure we absolutely recommend!

Amazing walk, stunning views and landscape. If you can do this long walk it is well worth it, however, other tour groups appeared to be getting far more information stops and our guide had no interest in keeping the group together, she was unconcerned about the slower members of the group. It’s not advertised as a walk which has to be completed in a certain time, but the pace was quick. I have always been led to believe that a group such as this should go at pace of slowest walker, not the case here. Members at back of group could have been struggling and guide would have had no clue and I feel didn’t care. So consider who you choose to do walk with carefully.

This trip was without doubt the highlight of our holiday. Our guide was Iris - she was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. If you can get Iris as your guide then do it! She had the answers to all of our questions and clearly knew her stuff. The views are stunning, and the bridge at the end is the highlight. We saw vultures and mountain goats on our way round which added to the excitement! We found out more about the carob tree and its interesting history. A value for money trip - a ‘must do’ in fact!

We signed up as a group of 4 and had Ian & Rachel as our guide for this Via Ferrata! We had one of the most fun & amazing experience! Ian & Rachel were really professional and super patient with us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so happy that we completed the course! Highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Malaga/ El Chorro.
