Phoenix: World's Only Global Musical Instrument Museum

Explore the world's only global musical instrument museum, with exhibits featuring musical heritage, ceremonies, and cultures from over 200 countries and regions. MIM is unique in that it brings together in one place an expansive collection of 4300 instruments and all genres of music and performers.

You can see, hear, and experience musical traditions from every corner of the globe with a focus on major world regions: Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania, Latin America, Europe, and United States / Canada. Many of the instruments displayed are rare examples, the finest of their kind, historically significant, or part of distinctive musical cultures.

You will also be able to watch videos and listen to music performed on the instruments on the display in their original context through the easy to use guidePORT system. You will walk away understanding the powerful connections we share through music and will even have an opportunity to play some instruments in the Experience Gallery.
