2-Day Trek, Berber Villages, and Stay in Azzaden Valley

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Mzik – Tamsoulte Waterfalls – Tizi Oussem

Ready to explore one of Morocco's most beautiful natural regions? Lace up your hiking boots, grab your trekking poles, and let's go! At the agreed time, you'll meet at the entrance of Hotel Islane in Marrakech before heading out toward the High Atlas Mountains.

On the way, you'll pass through charming Moroccan villages like Tahanaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni, getting your first glimpse of the stunning scenery that awaits you. After about 65 km, you'll arrive in Imlil, your starting point for the hike. Let the adventure begin!

You'll begin hiking toward the Tizi Mzik Pass, located in the Toubkal National Park. As you climb to an altitude of around 2,480 meters (note: adjust if you prefer 2,684m as originally written), you'll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Berber villages scattered along the way.

Midway through the hike, you'll take a break to admire the Tamsoulte Waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains, reaching up to 100 meters! After soaking in this natural wonder, you'll enjoy a traditional lunch before continuing your journey to the village of Tizi Oussem.

In this peaceful mountain village, you'll spend the night in a local mountain lodge (gîte), where you'll enjoy dinner and get some rest before the next day's trek.

Day 2: Tizi Oussem – Id Issa – Tizi Oudid – Matat – Marrakech

After breakfast, you'll set out on the second day of your trek, continuing your exploration of the majestic High Atlas landscapes. Your first stop will be the village of Id Issa, perched at 1,800 meters and rich in local history.

From there, you'll ascend to the Tizi Oudid Pass (2,000m), where stunning panoramic views await — the kind of scenery that will leave you speechless. The trail continues down to Matat, a beautiful forested area where you'll take a well-deserved break.

Surrounded by nature, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch before finishing the trek. At the end of the trail, you'll meet your driver and return to Marrakech.

You'll arrive back at your original meeting point around 6:00 PM, ending an unforgettable two-day mountain adventure.

Accommodation This 2-day trek includes 1 night in a mountain lodge (Berber guesthouse) in the village of Tizi Oussem.
