Reviews: Baku: Gobustan, Mud Volcanoes, Fire Mountain & Temple Tour
Guest User2026-04-11
The tour allows you to see all the places that are difficult to reach on your own. The bus was comfortable, and the group size was good—17 people packed up quickly and moved from place to place without any hassle. The mud volcanoes aren't particularly impressive, but you can reach them off-road in a Niva, which is in danger of falling apart. The most interesting spots are Gobustan (an open-air museum) and the Fire Temple in Absheron. Be prepared to pay extra for the tickets and the Niva ride (we paid 65 manat per person for all the extras) plus lunch. Bring water and a small snack, as lunch isn't until 2:00 PM. The tour was offered in three languages: English, Spanish, and Turkish. They said there were Russian-speaking groups, but we didn't find that option. Overall, it was a great experience for a very reasonable price.

They picked me up in the lobby and drove me around a beautiful city before dropping me off back at the hotel. 5 out of 5 stars!

One of the best tours I’ve ever taken! From the unique landscapes of Gobustan National Park to the eternal flames of Yanar Dag, every moment was memorable. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. A must-do in Azerbaijan!

Because we arrived in Baku at 2 AM, we didn't have time to book a popular, high-value day tour in the Old City, so we booked through Ctrip. The overall itinerary was reasonable, quickly covering the must-see attractions around Baku. However, after being picked up, we waited for over half an hour at the third pick-up point, and the customer never boarded, causing a significant delay. Our coordination and planning need improvement. It was a bilingual tour; the guide, a first-generation immigrant, spoke Russian more fluently and better. His English was average, but he managed to give a basic introduction. The mud volcano was smaller than expected, but since we were already there...
