Reviews: Modena Food Tour: Sightseeing & Taste

Francesco was absolutely incredible. He was quite thorough with telling us & pointing out so many details of Modena that one would never know about without taking the tour unless you spent countless hours researching! He brought us to the places that we would have never thought to go to in order to experience the secrets & history of Modena! I would highly recommend this tour with Francesco!

It's a pleasure to get Genova shown to you by a local. Barbara is knowledgeable, passionate about her town and loaded with positive energy: a joy to spend your time with. A highly recommended experience.

Food walks ... .the best way to explore the culture and local foods of a city and when the city is the food capital of the country you are in, it is a gastronomical roller coaster like no other. Bologna ... the food capital of Italy, provides something for all your senses while walking on the cobblestone streets, through bustling markets and checking out the local food shops, Osterias (drinking places) or Trattorias (family restaurants). Whether it was sampling the aged Balsamic Vinegar or tasting the famous Ragu from the Emilia Romagna region, the local wines or the artisnal shops serving one of the best Gelatos in the world, the Secret Food Tours took us to all these places and more, with a guide Gabrielle so well versed with alleys and what food we get where, for 3.5 hours we were constantly on the move, tasting meats, wine, cheese and pasta, topping it up in the end with the Best Gelato in the world. We learnt about DOP is a strict labeling of food products in Italy and other European countries to preserve and protect regionally produced foods from less superior versions. I could describe every place in detail, but that would be a long read, so leaving you with some satiating pictures and the knowledge we gained about this foodie city.
Reviews: Bologna: Walking Food Tour with a Local Guide

Valentina was an excellent guide on this tour, genuinely caring and knowledgeable about so much of the history, foods, and local culture that make Bologna special. It was pouring rain on our morning tour, but we laughed so much, had such good experiences with the local shops and restaurants, and found quick friendship with our group members despite the weather. Many of us went back to some of the shops after the tour to pick up more goodies because the quality was THAT good. I really felt like I understood more about the city when we finished the tour, and I’m very happy to have had the experience with Valentina and the group!
