Itinerary
MarbleArt is a local Boutique Μuseum, dedicated to marble sculpture and traditional stone carving. Its collection features authentic works by local artists, created exclusively with traditional Greek hand tools.

The MarbleArt workshop takes place in a truly artistic environment, devoted to creative expression through Greek marble. This is not a technical or craft-based workshop—it offers a unique cultural and artistic experience. Here, you won't be making functional objects, but original works of art, inspired by ancient Greek sculpture and the symbolism of marble as a material.

The workshop is offered to small groups of up to 4 people, ensuring personal guidance, a high-quality experience, and the calm, private atmosphere required for true artistic creation. Every session is a deeply personal, creative process, in a thoughtfully curated space where art meets history.

Below are the stages of the workshop.

1. An exploration of historical information on marble art, stone carving, and the cultural context of the Cycladic civilization (Located in: Paros, Naxos, Santorini, Mykonos and Delos) as outlined in the workshop program.

2. Structure of materials: rocks, marble, crystals and eventual enrichments thereof with metals or fossils

3. At the beginning there is a discussion-presentation about the Aegean Cycladic Art (with real sculpts and digital ones).

4. Becoming familiar with hand tools and learning how to use them for engraving.

5. Support regarding the drawing of the subject and then its transferring on the surface of the marble.

6. Next, traditional sculpture follows with hand tools, exactly as it was carried out in ancient Greece. The themes processed by the "artists" are rendered in engraved and relief- like forms with deepening on the surface of the marble, (multi-level for highlighting light and shadow).

7. Engraving letters for the signature of the creator.

8. Applying color to the marble surface to create a patina-like effect.

Outcomes - Derivatives:
By participating, creators gain the following:
a. Hands-on expertise in sculpting with stone and marble.
