Itinerary
**Until September 30th 2025, the group will go the Nikko onsen instead of Shinkyo Bridge; Starting October 1st 2025, the Nikko onsen will be changed to Shinkyo Bridge.**

The tour leader will greet you at the i) Tokyo Yaesu Bus Terminal, and ii) ground floor of the Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, Shinjuku Nishiguchi Branch (meeting point may vary depending on the day, please check tour schedule for details).

From Tokyo, you will head to Tochigi prefecture, where Nikko City is located. In about two and a half hours, you will arrive at the first stop, the Shinkyo Bridge. This red, arched bridge crosses the Daiya River and marks the entrance to the sacred area. It is an important symbol of Nikko and stands out against the natural surroundings, offering a simple but impressive sight.

Next, you will visit the Nikko Toshogu Shrine. This shrine is the final resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate that ruled Japan for over 250 years until 1868, known as the Edo Period. You can appreciate the beauty of this shrine complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site, whilst learning the interesting stories and legends of the buildings from your guide.

Afterwards, the tour continues along the Iroha Slope, a winding mountain road famous for its 48 sharp turns and is portrayed in the animation ”Initial D”. The road is very popular for its autumn leaves in the fall. And then, you will arrive at the Kegon Waterfall. This almost 100-meter-tall waterfall is the most famous of Nikko's many beautiful waterfalls. It is even ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful falls, along with the Nachi Waterfall in the Wakayama Prefecture and the Fukuroda Waterfall in the Ibaraki Prefecture.

You will have free time for lunch (self-paid). Nikko is especially famous for its local specialty, Yuba (tofu skin), a delicate and nutritious food made from the thin layer that forms on the surface of heated soy milk. Thanks to the region's high-quality mountain water and long Buddhist culinary traditions, Yuba has been enjoyed here for centuries. In addition to Yuba cuisine, there are also soba noodle restaurants and casual cafés around the area. Your guide will be happy to recommend popular local spots so you can enjoy a meal that suits your taste.

Before returning to Tokyo, there will be a brief stop at Lake Chuzenji for a scenic view of this natural wonder. Finally, the bus will drop you back at i) Tokyo Yaesu Bus Terminal, or ii) ground floor of the Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, Shinjuku Nishiguchi Branch.
