Itinerary
St. Giles Church, located in the very heart of Old Prague, is one of the architectural gems and spiritual centers of the Czech metropolis.
It was consecrated on May 4, 1371 by Archbishop Jan Oček of Vlašim in the presence of King Charles IV, his wife Elizabeth of Pomerania and his son Wenceslas IV.
This originally Gothic church, located in the Old Town, has a rich history dating back to the 14th century. Over the centuries, the church has undergone a number of changes and reconstructions that reflect various historical and artistic influences, especially from the Baroque period.

Thanks to its unique acoustics, the church is a frequent venue for classical music concerts. In the early 1980s, director Miloš Forman filmed some scenes from his Oscar-winning film Amadeus in this church.

Now you have a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music in the breathtaking atmosphere of this Baroque church.

The Dvořák Symphony Orchestra consists of highly experienced professional musicians from the Czech Philharmonic, FOK, SOČR, PKO, PKF, the National Theatre and others. Since its inception, it has been a part of Czech and international musical culture.

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday you can enjoy one of the programs Vivaldi's Four Seasons, W. A. Mozart, T. Albinoni, B. Smetana, A. Dvořák and other world-class composers.

Concert performed by:
Vanda Šípová – soprano, soloist of the National Theatre and the State Opera in Prague, winner of several international singing competitions.

Aleš Bárta – organ, one of the world's best organists, winner of several prestigious international organ competitions.

Zdeněk Pechoušek – solo violin, member of the National Theatre Orchestra in Prague, specialist in chamber music.
