This day trip is not to be missed.

Start your day hiking Johnston Canyon. Strap on your ice cleats (provided if deemed necessary) and traverse through time that often resembles the ice ages as waterfalls freeze in mid-air. You may even see some ice climbers who often make their way to the upper falls.

After your hike, you'll make your way to Banff town: The epitomy of winter. Don't believe us? Check out the Christmas store that's open all year round. Throughout your one hour in Banff, you can opt to grab lunch and any of the world-renowned restaurants, shop for some Banff-related souvenirs (might we suggest the Rocks & Gems store?) or try some Canadian favourite snacks like Beaver Tails and Rocky Mountain Chocolates.

Following your time in Banff town, you'll make your way towards the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel: First stopping at the Bow Falls adjacent to the Fairmont. Fun fact: Marilyn Monroe filmed River of No Return here in 1953. After a short drive, you'll find yourself and the most stunning view point of the Fairmont Banff Springs. It really is the Castle of the Rockies.

The Banff Gondola, one of Banff National Parks greatest attractions, soars above and allows for an all-encompassing view of the Candian Rockies by scaling the side of Sulphur Mountain. Bonus point: The Banff Gondola promises less crowds in the winter than warmer seasons but offers snow-covered views.

Note: The Banff Gondola is optional so be sure to select the Banff Gondola if you wish to participate.
