Itinerary
The common phrase "You must visit Plovdiv to experience Bulgaria" truly captures the essence of this tour. Embark on a day trip from Sofia to the captivating wonders of Plovdiv. The tour starts from the center of Sofia at 9:00 am. While booking, choose between a live guide or a cloud-based audio guide option. Hop on a comfortable bus at a centrally-located meeting point in Sofia and admire the beautiful Bulgarian countryside on the way.

Your discovery of the Old Town begins at the Eastern Gate of Ancient Plovdiv. Enjoy a two-hour pleasant walk along the cobblestone streets that will lead you to some of the city's most iconic landmarks. You will delve into the history of Plovdiv by exploring the Thracian fortress walls, the Roman Theatre (one of the best preserved such structures in the Balkans), the Ancient Stadium (a 30,000-seater venue), and the unforgettably beautifully decorated National Revival period houses. You will also have the opportunity to admire the city from panoramic spots and get the perfect chance to snap photos of the most Instagrammable places.

The walking tour concludes on the Glavnata, Plovdiv's main pedestrian street and the longest in all of Europe. From this central point, you will have two free hours to soak up the city's vibrant atmosphere. This is your opportunity to explore the Kapana Art District, taste local specialities for lunch, and buy souvenirs before the comfortable return transfer to Sofia.

You will arrive back at the meeting point in Sofia at around 5:30 pm.

Kindly note: Your expert guide will accompany you throughout the day, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transfer, along with insightful commentary on all architectural and cultural treasures. For your convenience, we also offer an ONLINE, cloud-based audio guide available in six languages (English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and Russian). This tour is the perfect blend of an informative journey with a variety of authentic experiences in Bulgaria's second biggest city.
