Itinerary
Once the pick up is complete, your day trip starts. On the way, while gazing into the diverse landscape of Crete, you get plenty of useful information about the island, its traditions and history from your escorting guide. Your destination is the northwestern Crete and the beautiful sea shores of Gramvousa and Balos.
Your first stop is the port of Kissamos, from where we catch our boat to Gramvousa. On the way, you have the chance to admire a great geological phenomenon: Crete's western side is rising while the eastern side is sinking. The result is the visible coast line that reveals this geological effect.
After a 1-hour trip, you arrive at Gramvousa, also known as the “Pirate island”. It is an uninhabited piece of paradise, mostly popular for its mesmerizing beach. Besides relaxing and swimming in the crystal clear waters, you can also enjoy a 20-minute walk up to the highest point of the island where a Venetian fortress built in 1579 is situated. The climb rewards you with a 360° view of the area.
Back on the boat, as we continue our cruise to our next destination, you can further relax with a lunch or some drinks.
As we arrive at the lagoon of Balos, feel free to get captivated by its intense beauty. One of the most photographed places in Crete, Balos will remind you of a modern paradise. You will have plenty of time to enjoy its shallow turquoise water or walk around and explore this piece of exotic beauty protected by the NATURA 2000 networking program.
