Discover the natural beauty of Mount Etna on a guided tour from Catania. Explore the highest and most active volcano in Europe, learn about its biodiversity, and see the Silvestri Craters and the Valle del Bove.
Depart from Catania and head to Mount Etna. Climb to an altitude of 2000 meters and admire the awakening of nature and life on the volcano from its slopes to the valley. Along the way, observe several lava flows up close, including those generated by the eruption of 1991-93, the longest in the recent history of Etna.
With the help of your guide, enter a lava flow cave and continue through beech and birch woods, typical of Etna, to reach the Rifugio Sapienza, at an altitude of 2000 meters. Head to the nearby Silvestri Craters and enjoy the wonderful view of lunar landscapes characterized by black dunes and expanses of solidified lava.
Continue to the volcanic caldera of the Valle del Bove, a large arid and desert depression, almost completely devoid of vegetation but with a truly unique charm. Descend towards the valley and stop at the town of Zafferana Etnea.
After leaving Zafferana Etna, be accompanied back to the meeting point.
