I was with Guide Kim Mi-hyang (Mika-san). During the travel times, she shared interesting stories about history and tourist attractions, as well as detailed sightseeing and photography tips. The tour was well-organized, and above all, she was incredibly kind. This was my first time visiting Kyoto via a bus tour, and I think it will remain a fond memory!

A big thumbs up to Uncle Big Head on WeChat on February 24th! He provided clear information, location, and photos in advance, and was very enthusiastic and meticulous in replying to questions and offering helpful reminders. His driving was very smooth and safe, and the itinerary and arrangement of the three attractions were well-planned. His descriptions of the attractions and restaurants were concise. All three attractions are traditional and representative, rich in local culture and history. Uncle Big Head deserves high praise for his itinerary planning.

Yesterday, I traveled around downtown Osaka by train using the Osaka Amazing Pass. However, since I don't know Japanese, it was more difficult than I expected. Today, thanks to the bus tour, I was able to comfortably tour Kyoto and Nara, listening to and seeing historical details along the way, and I truly enjoyed it. I am taking away a fulfilling day thanks to the passionate guidance of our tour guide, Mika Kim.

I was incredibly fortunate to have Ted as my guide during my short time in Kyoto. He was accommodating with my last-minute request to add another participant to the tour and made me feel comfortable from the start. Despite the particularly hot and humid day, Ted was patient with my frequent stops for water and bathroom breaks. He always adjusted the pace to suit me and provided insightful answers to my many questions (and I had plenty!). Even though it was one of Japan's busiest tourism days due to a national holiday, Ted made the tour feel special, helping us navigate around the crowds. He even joined me in shopping for a gift for my family! Our time together was wonderful, and we ended the tour with a prayer at a shrine—I truly felt like I made a friend. I highly recommend Ted to anyone visiting Kyoto, especially for exploring the historic district. He also offers food tours and bamboo forest tours, which I'm sure are just as excellent.

Lin our tour guide was amazing showing us the history and lots of the Japan traditions and the life in Kyoto. But we were disappointed with the selections and portions of the foods. I organized the tour for our friends and for my husband and wanted them to have a great experience with the food and be filled by the time we finished the 2nd restaurant but we ended up with sample like items, small plates of vegetable appetizers. Some photos showed shrimp tempura and other hearty items but we did not experience that. Not sure that I had to communicate that to Lin but maybe if this tour gives hearty food items all the time, it would get a 5 star. We don’t even drink alcohol so that savings should have gone to a hearty dish. Five stars for Lin but 2 for food. The first restaurant had a couple of sashimi slices and sweet potato and pepper tempura but the 2nd restaurant is what disappointed us. We thought it would only get better but it did not.
