Over 2.5 hours, you move through quiet stretches of canal, learn how this extraordinary waterway works, and settle into the rhythm of paddling before reaching the highlight: gliding calmly across the highest aqueduct in the world, suspended between sky and river.

In winter, the canal shows a different side of itself. Clear, still, and remarkably alive — so much so that it was recently featured on Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, drawn by the quality of the water and the life within it. Fish move beneath the surface, the banks soften, and the crowds fall away.
