Cusco: Machu Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain Day Trip

Enjoy a full-day tour to Machu Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain. Take a panoramic train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes, then board a bus to the archaeological site. Climb Machu Picchu Mountain for stunning views of the ancient Inca citadel.

Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco and head to the Ollantaytambo station. Board the train and enjoy a 1.5-hour ride through the Andean landscapes with a glass ceiling for panoramic views.

Arrive in Aguas Calientes, the town at the foot of Machu Picchu, and board a bus to the archaeological site. Once there, follow your guide to the entrance of Machu Picchu Mountain, a peak over 3000 meters in height. Climb up to 300 meters for incredible views of the ancient Inca citadel.

After climbing the mountain, meet back up with your guide for a guided tour of the ruins of Machu Picchu. Spend 2.5 hours following in the footsteps of the Incas and exploring the different areas of this ancient city, like the House of the Guardians, the highest structure in Machu Picchu.

After the tour, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you'll have free time to eat in one of the restaurants or to visit the town's handicraft market. After making the return trip by train, you'll be dropped back off at your hotel in Cusco.
