From Cusco: Humantay Lake with Breakfast and Buffet Lunch

You will be able to experience the adventure of walking surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the imposing Salkantay, you will come back full of energy after having done this trek.


1. Pickup in Cusco:

Departure time: Tours typically begin around 4:00 to 4:30 am.
Pickup point: The guide or tour operator will pick you up at your accommodation in Cusco (or at a pre-arranged meeting point) by bus.
Travel time to Soraypampa (trailhead): Around 3 hours by bus, depending on traffic and road conditions.
2. Arrival in Soraypampa:

Approximate arrival time: Between 7:30 to 8:00 am.
Activity: A short stop to rest, use restrooms, and enjoy a light breakfast (usually included in the tour).
Preparation for the hike: The guide will give you instructions for the hike to the Humantay Lake. If you prefer, you can rent horses for the initial part of the uphill walk (though the hike is accessible for most people in good physical condition).
3. Hike to Laguna Humantay:

Distance: About 3 kilometers uphill.
Duration: Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
Altitude: The lake is located at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) above sea level, so it's important to be mindful of altitude acclimatization.
During the hike, you'll enjoy stunning views of the Humantay Glacier and the Andean landscape.
4. Arrival at Laguna Humantay:

Approximate arrival time: Between 9:30 and 10:00 am.
Time at the lake: You will have around 45 minutes to 1 hour to enjoy the lake, take photos, relax, and admire the scenery. You can walk to the edge of the lake or simply enjoy the panoramic views.
5. Return to Soraypampa:

Return time: After spending time at the lake, the descent to Soraypampa usually takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Once you reach Soraypampa, you'll board the bus for the return trip to Cusco.
6. Lunch and return to Cusco:

Lunch: Most tours include a traditional lunch, which is typically served midway on the return trip (near Mollepata or another location).
Return to Cusco: After lunch, the bus will head back to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of around 5:00 to 6:00 pm.
