Itinerary
Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa at 3:15 AM, and after a three-hour bus ride through southern Peru, we will arrive in the town of Chivay, located over 3,000 meters above sea level. Here, we will make a stop for a delicious breakfast consisting of bread with butter and jam, juice, and coffee or tea. With our batteries recharged, we will head to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Cóndor. From here, you can admire the Colca Canyon in all its splendor. Did you know it is one of the deepest canyons in the world? Additionally, we may see some condors, as this area is perfect for this species of bird to soar.
We will leave the viewpoint and continue our route visiting other towns and viewpoints in the Colca Canyon such as Wayrapunko or Antahuillque. Around 11:30 AM, we will head to the Chacapi hot springs, where you will spend an hour enjoying its natural pools. After this soak, we will return to Chivay, where you will have free time for lunch on your own. Finally, we will regroup and set off for Puno, our final destination. During the journey, which lasts about six hours, we will make stops to stretch our legs at the Patapampa viewpoint, from where you can admire the majesty of the Ampato and Sabancaya volcanoes. We will also stop at the Salinas and Lagunillas Reserve to see if we are lucky enough to spot any herds of camelids or flocks of wild birds that inhabit these areas. We will conclude the excursion at the Puno Terminal at approximately 7:30 PM.
