Reviews: Punta Arenas: Boat Trip to Magdalena Island and Walk with Penguins

Good and comfortable trip by ferry to Isla Magdalena. We’re not sure exactly who the “guide” was but there was a “crew” of boat personnel orchestrating the parade of tourists onto, during the walk, and off the island. Too many people for us, but the penguins and the landscape and lighthouse were fabulous.

We had a free day in Punta Arenas and spontaneously booked this tour. Luckily, because it was really worth getting out of the city and exploring the area to the south. The drive to the fort was beautiful, and we even saw dolphins on the way back. Our guide was super friendly and funny and told us a lot about the history of the region.

Christian and Miguel were excellent! Really knowledgeable and informative. We did not feel rushed at all, stopping for photo opportunities whenever it was possible or we asked. The tour around the fort was brilliant, the visitors centre was also informative. Miguel was pointing out the birds to us. They were both very helpful after the tour had finished advising us where to go and what to see and eat. Cannot fault them at all. it was a brilliant day out!

An excellent day trip. Well worth the early start. Seeing about as much as you can in only a short time. Pablo was a superb guide. Really awesome scenery. Makes me want to come back for longer.
