Doi Inthanon National Park Full-Day Tour
Start with pick-up from your hotel for a one-day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park.
Begin your journey with a scenic 1.5-hour drive from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, rising to 2,565 meters above sea level. As you ascend, the landscape transforms from city streets to rolling hills, lush forests, and cool mountain air. This region is part of Doi Inthanon National Park, a protected area rich in biodiversity, home to waterfalls, rare birds, and mist-shrouded cloud forests. The journey itself offers glimpses into northern Thailand's natural beauty and rural charm, making it a peaceful and picturesque start to your day.
Take a peaceful walk along the Ang Ka Luang Nature Trail, a serene boardwalk through dense, moss-covered forest. This magical trail is lush and green all year round, offering a truly tranquil experience.
Continue to the King and Queen Pagodas, built in honor of Thailand's beloved monarchs. Surrounded by vibrant gardens and panoramic mountain views, these pagodas are among the park's most iconic spots.
Next, visit the Hmong hill tribe market, part of the Royal Project initiated in 1979 by King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit. The project aimed to end opium farming and promote sustainable agriculture. Here, browse fresh produce, handmade goods, and local specialties from the Royal Projects.
Enjoy a delicious local Thai lunch set, prepared with seasonal ingredients from the region.
After lunch, stop by the Karen village of Mae Klang Luang, where you'll sample freshly brewed Karen coffee while enjoying views of scenic rice terraces—especially breathtaking during the rainy season.
Wrap up the day with visits to Sirithan and Wachiratharn Waterfalls, two stunning cascades surrounded by lush jungle. The cool mist and forest air provide the perfect refreshment before your return journey.
After a day filled with nature and culture, you'll be dropped off at your hotel around 5:00–5:30 PM.
Remark:
