The island of the Uros, a group of 80 islands built on totora, an aquatic plant that grows on the surface. The people who inhabit this island are the Uros, one of the oldest cultures of the continent, they still maintain some of their customs and their subsistence is based on fishing and hunting, they also manufacture wool fabrics for tapestries and stuffed animals.
The excursion begins with pick up from your hotel (near or within the center of Puno) between 7:00 and 7:00 am.
We will embark to the first floating island of the Uros, where we will receive a brief explanation about life in the area.
After visiting the Uros, we will continue to the island of Taquile, where we will enjoy breathtaking views and a delicious lunch in a local house.
We will tour the island and visit its main square, observing the islanders in their traditional costumes.
Finally, we will return to the port of Puno, arriving at approximately 16:30 pm.
