The tour guide shared a lot; buying a ticket on your own only allows for a superficial experience. I highly recommend buying a guided tour.

I was very disappointed that the guide just left us at the entrance. you might as well not have had her at all.

Marcello, our guide, was excellent. He was very friendly and patient, and he needed it with an annoying mom who tried to use the tour as her classroom, taking away from the other tourists. His knowledge surpasses that of anyone else I have used.
