The tour starts with pickup from Tromsø and heads out into the natural landscape of the surrounding fjords to the west side of the city. Immerse yourself in the stunning scenery around you and experience what the arctic wilderness has to offer, while contributing to scientific data collection!
First stop is Kvaløya, one of Norway's biggest and most beautiful islands. Here, take advantage of the viewpoint to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the fjords, mountains, beaches, lakes, forests, and small villages in the countryside of Tromsø.
Listen to your guide talk about the native flora and fauna of the region and watch out for the variety of wildlife that lives here, including otters, reindeer and sea birds. When you've built up an appetite from your wilderness exploration, enjoy a picnic in the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the stunning views and sounds of nature.
During the activity, we'll stop by the water and educate you on our ongoing citizen science project. Once we explain the scientific method we are following, we will put the method and knowledge into practice. We'll collect data samples together, and the data will then be shared with our research partners. This data is important as it will be used to inform policymakers and research institutions.
Join us and make your northern Norway vacation part of the effort to protect the environment and support important scientific research!
