In this exclusive tour of the Vatican Museums, you will enjoy a small-group experience led by one of our professional, English-Spanish-French speaking guides.
You will meet your guide directly at the Vatican Museums entrance, where, thanks to your "skip-the-line" tickets, you'll bypass the long public queues and proceed directly to the security check.
The tour will begin in a gorgeous panoramic terrace that offers a stunning view of St. Peter's dome overlooking the Vatican gardens; the perfect spot to take a great picture! The guide will then walk you through all the highlights of the museums which include masterpieces and artifacts from different cultures and civilizations. You will enter the Pio Clementine museum, famous for its unique Greek/Roman ancient statues such as the Laocoon group, you will gasp at the length of the enormous Tapestry Hall, then through the Hall of the Painted Maps, you will enter the Sistine Chapel whose impact in history, religion and visual arts has no equal in the world.
During the Jubilee Year, the access from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter's Basilica is closed. To visit the Basilica, you will need to return to the entrance and follow the Vatican Walls along Viale Vaticano, Via Leone IV, Piazza Risorgimento, Via di Porta Angelica, and Piazza San Pietro.
From there, you can expect a queue of about 10 minutes. With your ID in hand, you will be able to enter and visit the Basilica on your own. The distance is approximately 1 km and takes about 20 minutes to walk.
