Discover Rome's Jewish Quarter
Discover a stunning villa, built on the outskirts of 17th-century Rome
Marvel at a peaceful oasis in the heart of Rome
Itinerary
Discover the majestic beauty of the Borghese Gallery in the former Villa Borghese Pinciana in Rome, and see art treasures by Bernini, Carravagio, Titian and more.

Located in one of Rome's largest parks, the villa was commissioned in the early 1600s by the nephew of Pope Paul V, Cardinal Scipione Borghese. He used the villa to house his extensive art collection, before it was established as a public museum in 1903.

A passionate guide will tell you interesting facts about the artists and their art as you wander the decorative rooms in a small group of no more than 6 people. Admire Bernini's "Apollo and Daphne," and hear the story behind Caravaggio's "David with Goliath's Head," and Raphael's "The Deposition."

Entering the museum at 17:00, once the day time crowds have dispersed, will also provide the perfect opportunity to see the enchanting evening light as it bathes the marble sculptures.

On your own, before or after the tour, you could wander the paths of the Villa Borghese Gardens, Rome's 3rd largest park and discover a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city for locals and visitors alike. Highlights of the gardens include an unusual water clock and the Alpini monument to Italy's elite mountain army corp.
